17 weeks

I'm 17 weeks as of Wednesday!! I now have a sweet potato in my belly :) I have not felt the baby yet. Well I don't think I have. My lower back bones have been hurting frequently but I'm still alive! Things are moving right along and nicely! Belly pictures to come soon!

Christmas Lights - New Tradition

New tradition in the Keil household...going to see the Christmas Lights!! We went on Christmas Eve this year and found a spectacular neighborhood in Brea. Enjoy what we enjoyed...

Merry Christmas Eve

Sorry...it's been 14 days since my last blog. First, Merry Christmas Eve to everyone. Hope you enjoy or have enjoyed your time with family!! We had a great time in Santa Barbara for Christmas #1. Thank you all for our gifts...and a special thank you to Toby for Battleship. They are playing it now which means I cannot nap in the living room haha. It is pretty cool though. Next Christmas is tomorrow with our little family, Rusty me and Cody! Then we send Cody off to his mom's and don't see him again until after the new year :( Now for some baby stuff! I am 16 weeks and 3 days today. We have an avocado size baby (or turnip size as Rusty's app says) in my belly. I am no longer feeling sick...whoo hoo...and I'm not exhausted all the time although I do still take naps. I feel human again and am functioning as normal.

A little about the baby: Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop. **I copy pasted the above so just b/c it says 'his' doesn't mean it's a he...we find out very soon. Another 3ish weeks and we'll be able to announce the sex of our little bundle of joy that I'm pretty sure bites me every once in a while**

Thought you might want to know who knew I was pregnant first...well it was me of course but then I told Rusty. He was at work when I took the pregnancy test (2 of them). I did this to his mirror before he got home at the end of September 2012:

Christmas Is Here

We Keil's had some fun last weekend! We bought our Christmas Tree and decorated it. Well Rusty and Cody had to operate on the tree first...

The rest of the house was decorated on December 2, 2012!

8 weeks

Now let's talk about the baby since all family knows! Here is a picture from our first ultrasound at 8 weeks...

It's our little peanut well kidney bean. That's about the size the baby is at 8 weeks. And this is almost 5 weeks later...

You can see the head and facial features and hands and toes! The baby is about the size of a lime at 12 weeks and about the size of a medium shrimp on week 13! I am currently at 13 weeks and 2 days. Things are going well now. The first 11 and a half weeks were rough. I was constantly sick and incredibly tired all the time. It's nice now to not be so tired and be able to actually clean the house now lol --- it's the little things. Although on the weekends I do nap when I can...shoot I even nap during my lunch in my car sometimes at work. It's not just about me anymore ya know. Well you can now enjoy the wonderful blogs not only about the current Keil Family but the future Keil Family!!! Have a wonderful week.

Holiday Party

This weekend we had our first holiday party to go to. My company, PIMCO, put on their annual holiday party at the Hyatt Huntington Beach. It was pretty amazing. There was a cocktail hour with a seafood and cheese bar. Rusty and I did photos in the photo booth. The dinner, which was delicious, was stuffed chicken, butternut squash ravioli, veggies, bread, prime rib, lobster bisque, potatoes, scallops and salad. The CIO got up and spoke for a few minutes thanking not only us as employees but our families for their support because if they didn't let us work so much the company wouldn't be successful. :) After dinner they had a dessert bar that included chocolate covered strawberries, pumpkin cheesecake, fudge, other chocolate yummies, red velvet cake that was so good, some fruit stuff that we didn't eat. In another room, after dinner, there was a nightclub, pool tables and late night snacks. We also took a photo with one of 3 backgrounds. On our way out we were given our photo, a frame and cupcakes! I haven't had one yet but Rusty has and he approved. Here are a picture of pictures from the party...

Every year at Christmastime, the Hyatt does a sand castle that is pretty cool. I still like last year's better but this year is neat too!

Happy Thanksgiving

I'm sure there are some of you that would like to know what is going on with the Keil's! Well we've been so on the go doing all sorts of things that I haven't had time to blog...can you believe it?!?!? I didn't get many pictures of all the festivities but I do have the story.

All the fun started with Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 22nd. I made meatloaf, potatoes and veggies for dinner for the 3 of us, Rusty, Cody and myself. Then off to the movies to see Wreck It Ralph. Friday, November 23rd, Cody had his first day of soccer games for the tournament he wanted to be in. He had 2 games. Rusty and I split up to conquer that and cooking to host Thanksgiving dinner. I cooked...he did soccer. After 2 games, they came home while family had or was still arriving. We ate lots of food and talked and the kids played wonderfully together. Wes got a kick out of chopping Jon, my brother, with the lightsaber. Jon got all into it and Wes was loving it.

At dinner, Rusty and I were going to announce to those that didn't know yet that we were expecting. Instead Jane just asked me: "Nicole.......how.......is........the......baby?" It was so funny and adorable. What was crazy was her memory. We hadn't and Stacy and David hadn't talked to her about it since we told them. She was so sweet to ask and announce! Rusty then said, "oh well we are having a baby!" We all loved having our family around for our first Thanksgiving in our new-ish home! Saturday, November 24th Cody had another soccer game (part of the tournament). It was cold and foggy :(

The Demmin's joined us for his game and then took off. Thanks for coming. Rusty got really sick so we just laid around all day after the game. It was nice to rest. Sunday, Rusty was feeling 10 times better so we went shopping ALL DAY.

Sunday's Championship Game. The Nightmares lost BUT they worked their butts off. The other team pushed them big time...

We made our way out to the Ries' house Saturday afternoon! The kids played some dance game on the Wii.

Bitter Sweet. Cody's last regular season soccer game was Saturday. He was cheered on by more than just Rusty, Grandma Lori and me. The Ries' joined us! It was so great of them to take the trip down. And thanks for hanging out at lunch with us and coming to see our new home. We loved having you even if it was a short while.

Next soccer games are in a little less than 3 weeks. He will be in the Thanksgiving weekend tournament which means at least 2 games a day, Friday and Saturday. I think we'll have a tired kid come Sunday and some tired parents. BUT we do get to pig out Friday night while we chow down on Thanksgiving Dinner! Have a special week everyone.
